Under the Greenwood Tree

Shakespeare in Nature at The Sembrich

Wednesday, August 25, 2021

2:00 & 3:00 p.m.

Join the actors of the Adirondack Shakespeare Company for a socially distant walking performance on the splendid grounds of the Sembrich. At a time when we cannot safely gather together indoors to enjoy music and theatre, let us take to the fields, forests, heaths, and shorelines.

Travel with us to Bohemia, Arden, Athens, and Illyria. Revel with the faeries from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Cavort with the lovers of The Tempest and marvel at Prospero’s power. This above all, remember: “Be not afeard. The isle is full of noises, / Sounds and sweet airs that give delight and hurt not.”

Specially curated for the Sembrich landscapes and waterscapes, these musical and dramatic selections from the plays of William Shakespeare speak to the beauty and magic of the natural world.

Run time: approximately 45 minutes and is recommended for audience members who are comfortable navigating outdoor paths.

This event will include a walking tour on The Sembrich’s beautiful lakeside property. Masks are required at all times while on The Sembrich property. Health and safety guidelines prescribed by the CDC and the State of New York will be enforced. Failure to comply will result in ejection from the property and forfeiture of admission.

Tickets: $30.00

Purchase tickets through The Sembrich website.

Rain Date: Thursday, August 26, 2:00 PM & 3:00 PM

If needed, we will announce the use of this rain date by 6:00 PM on the day prior to the performance.
